FAQs and Office Policies

Cancellation Policy

Your appointment time is reserved especially for you.  If you are unable to keep the appointment we will require 24 hours notice, otherwise it will be necessary to charge for the time lost.

Payment

Office policy is that services are paid for at each visit as they are performed.  However, in certain circumstances, other arrangements for payment may be made by consulting the Office Manager in advance of services being performed.

Will my treatment be covered by insurance?

If you have dental insurance, the services performed in our office will be billed directly to the dental plan on your behalf.  We are not privy to the details of your dental plan and treatment is not dictated by the coverage. Patients are ultimately responsible for payment for the services they receive regardless of having an insurance carrier.

Please make sure all dental insurance information is correct and current, otherwise you will be billed directly for any outstanding amounts.

Can I get a same-day appointment?

For existing patients of record experiencing a dental emergency we will attempt to accommodate you as quickly as possible depending on the severity of your situation.   For non-emergent appointments we will book according to times available in our day to day schedule.  Please note, if you are a new patient to our office you must undergo a full new patient exam prior to booking treatment.

What will happen at my first visit?

Your first visit is our opportunity to get to know you and your oral health needs, and address any concerns you may have regarding the health and appearance of your teeth and gums.  You'll fill out a medical history, get radiographs taken as needed, and have a complete exam (head and neck, intraoral, periodontal, and dental).  We will discuss treatment options and address any questions or concerns you may have.  Then we will schedule an appointment with the hygienist for a cleaning (if you haven't done so already) and appointments for dental treatment if needed. This exam usually takes about an hour.

Can I get treatment at the same visit as my new patient exam?

No.

The new patient exam allows us to assess you overall oral health and develop the appropriate plan.  It is important for you to take the time to fully understand your treatment plan including any fee estimates associated with treatment.  In order to provide you with the best treatment we need to set aside time in our schedule as appropriate for your dental needs.  By using the full new patient exam to asses your oral health we can ensure that your dentist and hygienist can work with you to provide optimal care.
